INDUSTRIA CARTONERA PALACIOS S.A. – ONE OF THE MOST ADVANCED AND SOFISTICATED CORRUGATED PLANTS IN THE WHOLE SOUTH AMERICA.
We must consider it a serious success for PALMAR in 2007 to get through a full scale project involving a CORRUGATING AND CARDBOARD FACTORY owned by PALMAR – INCARPALM S.A.
The success of this project became possible thanks to the strategic alliance with American pulp-and-paper corporation BARNET INC, which has taken up long-term obligations on supply of whole volume of craft liner and other raw materials and also on granting a complete service of technical management of the new enterprise.
Today the INCARPALM S.A. operates with its full designed production capacity letting out up to 1,500 thousand cardboard boxes a week.
Among the clients of INCARPALM, are practically all of the leading exporters of agricultural production in Ecuador. The Enterprise is making boxes of various types, which are used not only for bananas and fresh fruit packaging, but also for packing fresh flowers, frozen fish and shrimps, a variety of canned food and many other kinds of food production requiring cardboard packaging.
In several experts’ opinion, the INCARPALM cardboard production, which is equipped by corrugating machines made in GERMANY by the world leader in the area – company BHV-, is the most modern and the most productive not only in Ecuador, but also in all Latin America.
INCARPALM S.A. provides constant employment for about 70 workers and employees.

CIAEGPA S.A. - THE DIAMOND IN THE CORPORATION’S CROWN
As for the development of banana growing facilities, 2007 was a year of several new acquisitions for PALMAR. These were several small proprieties in EL ORO and also three new relatively large plantations:
1. AGRICOLA San Sebastian – with 130 ha and two packing stations;
2. AGRICOLA JOSE MIGUEL 2 - with 50 ha and one packing station;
3. AGRICOLA DANILO EUCLIDES 2 – with 70 ha and one packing station;
It is especially important to note, that all the specified plantations have been completely converted and replanted with a new Cavendish variety - WILLIAMS MERISTEMO, which is much more productive in comparison to traditional varieties.
Since week 12 of 2008, the new plantations have started to produce the fruit getting gradually their full operational capacity.
Under good weather conditions and thanks to the newest agro-industrial technologies implemented on these three plantations, they should additionally produce about 15 thousand boxes of bananas a week.
Nowadays, the total area of own PALMAR’S production in EL ORO province reaches 1,800 hectares, which allows to cut up to 85,000 boxes of bananas a week during a high season. Presently the CIAEGPA is one of the largest and most effective banana growers in Ecuador.
Development of its production is the main strategy of CORPORATION PALMAR for the coming years.
CIAEGPA provides constant employment in Ecuador for more than 2,500 workers and employees.
